2016 Hyundai Genesis vs. 2016 Nissan 370Z

The 2016 Hyundai Genesis is a car that has been talked about a lot, mostly due to the fact that it has won the hearts of many car enthusiasts and has received many accolades to boot. When shopping for a car, you may want to compare it with a few others such as the 2016 Nissan 370Z in a bid to figure out how to get the best deal. However, there is a reason why the Hyundai Genesis has been so popular. The Nissan is no match compared to the Hyundai Genesis, and these are some of the reasons why.

Design & Style

The Nissan 370Z has an exterior design that can best be described as love-or-hate. The exterior has a design featuring multiple bulges and the addition of many design elements which some may consider gaudy. The Hyundai, on the other hand, is well-built by all standards. It is an aesthetically pleasing car, with an aggressive front end as well as a body with just the right amount of styling to make it stand out but not be too brash.

The interior of the Hyundai offers more space than that of the 370Z. It is also more well organized, and is generally a comfortable and luxurious place for both driver and passengers.

Technology & Safety

The array of tech features present in both vehicles is impressive. Some of the basic offerings include optional leather seats, driver and passenger airbags, cruise control, dual zone climate control and antilock braking systems. However, the Hyundai is more equipped compared to the Nissan. Technologies such as a sound-enhancing audio system, smart cruise control, automated wipers and lights makes the Hyundai more of a pleasure to drive on a daily basis.

The base Nissan 370Z ships with a gasoline 3.7 6-cylinder engine producing 332 horsepower and 270 lb-ft of torque. Though this is more than what the Hyundai produces, the 370Z is less economical and in many cases more difficult to control compared to the Hyundai.

The Genesis, has an impressive 3.8-liter V-6 producing 311 horsepower and 293 lb-ft of torque at 5,000 RPM. This is mated to an 8-speed automatic gearbox for smooth power delivery and gear changes. The Genesis’ engine is more than enough to make it perform better than most other sedans in its class out there. It’s also very responsive and tactile, so petrol-heads are likely to have a lot of fun with it.

The Bottom Line

Both of these cars have different areas in where they excel. When looked at in totality, however, you will find that the Genesis is well-rounded and therefore more capable compared to the Nissan 370Z. It would therefore be the car that most people, petrol-heads or not, would buy.
