2021 Hyundai Accent vs. 2021 Nissan Versa

There are plenty of things to love in the 2021 Hyundai Accent. One is the fact that there is a generous space to accommodate five passengers, considering that it is a subcompact ride. Another thing is that it has a user-friendly infotainment interface. When it comes to mileage, it scores high with a fuel economy of 41mpg for highway driving and 33 mpg for city driving.

In the case of the 2021 Nissan Versa, expect an upscale cabin with a solid set of safety features to offer. There are no major changes when compared to the 2020 version, though.

Design & Style

The 2021 Accent has a cargo space that can carry your weekend suitcases for your getaway, or about 10 grocery bags. This is already considered enough for a subcompact car. The ride can seat five people comfortably in its amply-bolstered configuration inside. You will find the ride worthy of praise in terms of design and style considering the great materials used to construct it.

The 2021 Versa, on the other hand, also has a decent amount of cargo space, just like the Accent. Promising to seat up to five people, do not expect that the back seats can accommodate three adults. There’s a cramped headroom in that area. For cabin materials, it is fitted with standard cloth upholstery, with plenty of hard plastics all around.

Technology & Safety

Technology wise, the Hyundai Accent is special because of its infotainment system. This one has a reliable interface, despite using a small five-inch touch screen for its tech configuration. The straightforward setup allows you to use four speakers, Bluetooth interface, Siri Eyes Free, and the USB port with much ease. It also has a rearview camera installed for your safety.

In the case of the 2021 Versa, there is a seven-inch touch screen, which, like that of the Accent’s is easy to use. The problem is it lags whenever the user inputs something on it. The inclusion of a voice recognition system does not help as well. It is also short in terms of features since the standard list includes only a USB port and a Bluetooth interface. Safety features like rearview camera and lane departure warning are present, but these ones need some polishing to make the ride rate higher when it comes to safety scores.

Performance

The 2021 Accent has a four-cylinder engine under its hood which allows it to put off up to 120 horsepower. The Versa, meanwhile, produces 122 horsepower with its four-cylinder, 1.6-liter engine. This acceleration is defined as slow, though, and comes with a lot of noise when you step on the brakes.

The Bottom Line

The 2021 Hyundai Accent has a lot of great features to offer to its avid and would-be followers. It is better when compared to the Nissan Versa, no questions asked.
