Deciding to discontinue its GT hatchback model, the 2021 Hyundai Elantra still manages to impress its would-be buyers. It is gifted with an excellent fuel economy, and a reliable and user-friendly technology. It also has plenty of cargo space found inside its roomy cabin.
When it comes to the 2021 Volkswagen Jetta, you are also promised a comfortable seating configuration inside its cabin. Likewise, it has a remarkable infotainment interface.
Design & Style
The 2021 Hyundai Elantra has a noticeably roomy cabin, offering the comfort that five occupants are looking for. This is true for passengers of all ages, shapes, and sizes. The cargo space is superior too when compared to what its opponents offer, since it has 14.2 cubic feet of trunk capacity. All in all, the trunk is attractive as well.
Just like the Elantra, the 2021 Jetta is also gifted with a spacious trunk space. In fact, it can carry up to 14.1 cubic feet of cargo. There is also an abundance of headroom and legroom that is good enough to accommodate five adults. Note, though, that while the cabin is roomy, there is a need to add more supportive seats inside. There are also plenty of hard plastics in the cabin.
Technology & Safety
The 2021 Elantra has one of the most user-friendly infotainment systems in its class. You can actually upgrade the eight-inch touch screen to a 10.25-inch configuration. Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are also standard in this ride. It also has a remote keyless entry, HD radio, Bluetooth, two USB ports, voice recognition and four speakers. Included in its long list of safety features are a rearview camera, rear cross traffic alert, forward collision warning, pedestrian detection, and driver attention monitoring.
The Jetta’s screen is smaller than that of the Elantra’s. This one only has a size of 6.5 inches. It displays crisp graphics, though, and integrates smartphones for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Likewise, it is gifted with two USB ports, four speakers, Bluetooth, and a Wi-Fi hot spot. It is disappointing, though, that it only has a rearview camera as a standard safety feature.
Under the hood of the Elantra’s base trim is a four-cylinder, 2.0-liter engine that can reach up to 147 horsepower in terms of results. This is the same power that the Jetta puts off. For a more powerful ride, the Elantra also has other versions that can generate up to 201 horsepower and 275 horsepower.
The Bottom Line
The 2021 Hyundai Elantra simply knows how to catch the attention of onlookers with its solid body. It also has a long list of reliable features to go with its look. On top of that, you will find engine variations depending on the power you need for your ride. This one is far better than the Jetta, no questions asked.
