Mixed Review

This will be a mixed review. Since 2005 my family has purchased 5 vehicles from Springfield Hyundai, three new and two used. We have been pleased with all of our purchasing experiences with the exception of one. An experienced sales person ( I prefer not to address by name ) helped my daughter and I purchase a car for her back this past September. Her buying experience was mediocre although she is happy with the car. She had not realized how barely adequate her experience was until I raved to her about my purchasing experience a few months ago with both Herb and Tim. Then my daughter became increasingly dissatisfied with her experience. Mostly, she was promised new car mats for 2017 Sonata and she never received them despite repeated communications with her sales person and also she was never told about the free oil change that apparently is customary for used car purchases. Also, I received a second key remote with my used Sonata purchase and my daughter did not receive one. I did not know if that was customary or not with a used car sale but in my repeated emails to management, I did question this. Unfortunately my emails to Hyundai management about my daughter’s experience have been ignored. This disappoints me greatly. Perhaps my complaints seemed inconsequential or small but the fact that my daughter’s buying experience was not positive should have been enough for someone in Hyundai management to take notice. Subsequently, my daughter has paid for four car mats, an oil change and now will have to pay several hundred dollars for a second key remote without knowing if she should have received one. She has stated to me that she will think very seriously before purchasing another car from Springfield Hyundai. Claire Witzel

i called several times to get in touch with Rosa to inquire about a car. I was promised a call back but never heard back from anyone. Gave them multiple chances to make it right but unfortunately they didn't do anything to make it right. would not recommend this dealership to anyone.

Waste of time

The lady called me early in the morning said i was good to come get the car. My application went threw and everything was good that I can come finish paper workand pick the car up. Told her I was on my way uo there. She said ok we will get the car ready. I get there and they come out and say they selling the car now. Wo xxx Am I here. If you sold it become I came but you called and said it was available. Then this lady on the picture gonna say well if there insurance don't go threw I'll give you a call..umm no I got out of bed to get this car and yall selling it before I come. I'M good bad business.

John Barone was my salesman at the dealership. I drive an hour to work every day. They were kind enough to let me test drive the car for an hour. worst experience at a dealership

spoke to salesman John when I came in. Made it very clear I needed to have a car by today, I wasn't hesitant or said I need a month or anything like that. While talking numbers he was constantly belittling me, assuming cause of our age difference. He went on to tell me that "I didn't know cars and should do more research before coming in." Show room looks like it hasn't been renovated in 20 years and people like John missing out on sales could be a big reason why.

Came to Springfield Hyundai looking to purchase my first certified pre-owned vehicle. Price range was a little low, but they made sure to do everything in their power to get me into something that I was pleased with and that fell within my price range. The vehicle itself has some very minor cosmetic issues that I wish I was made aware of, but all in all I am extremely pleased with my purchase and with the service that I received at Springfield Hyundai. I will most certainly be recommending this dealership to anyone that I know looking to purchase both new or pre-owned vehicles!

I must admit my father did most of the leg work in regards to going and talking to Gardner and setting up my deal. However when I did meet Gardner he directed his attention to my wants and needs as far as what I wanted in my vehicle. He was very accommodating and personable and made this process a breeze. Gardner took the time to thoroughly go through all of the settings and gadget setups of my new Tuscan. As far as the car goes I love it. It is exactly what I wanted. I even had an aftermarket sunroof installed and you would NEVER KNOW it was aftermarket. Seamlessly done. The turn around for the install was only a few days and they were even generous enough to even give me a loaner. From start to finish my father ( who has never owned or even considered a Hyundai ) and I were extremely impressed and blown away by the standard Hyundai sets for their vehicles and their service.

Great Experience and No Pressure, Just Honest Numbers

Gardner was helpful and direct, and was very efficient with my time. He was honest and but also pointed out what I needed to know. I would/will go back to him in 3 years when I do another lease. The entire staff was nice, and besides a normal 0 or 1 there, the haggling/back and forth was minimal. I was extremely happy and my salesperson was the main reason.

Great Place To Buy A Hyundai

The overall buying experience at Springfield Hyundai very pleasurable. Salesperson Dan Sloss was very friendly and had extensive knowledge about all the features of the 2020 Palisade. Dan did not pressure me to buy the Palisade, but made the deal so attractive I had to make a purchase/lease. All of the employees from the sales manager, finance manager, service manager and cashier are some of the most pleasant and friendly people I have ever experienced in purchasing a vehicle. We had been considering buying a new car for a while. We had been looking at the Santa Fe. We called and made an appointment with Kelly Fairfield on Black Friday. When we arrived for our appointment, Kelly was a little tied up, however Kathleen Rey step right in and took care of all our needs. She was very informative and was very accommodating. She was also very patient with us as we were going through the decision making process. Any questions that we had, if she did not know the answer, she found someone who did. Stay far far away.

If I could give zero stars, I would. We received a letter from Springfield Hyundai saying they would buy my dads 2015 Hyundai Genesis. This car used to belong to my mother, who recently passed away, so we were planning on taking the $7,000 hit and getting out of it because we do not need it. After thinking about it, we decided to do it and get it over with. When my father went back to Hyundai, they said that they don’t buy cars, they’d only buy it if we bought something else. This is fine, but if we originally told you the entire situation and said i was planning on getting something before the end of the year, Why didn’t you say this before? Why did you send us the letter saying you need a Hyundai Genesis on your lot and wanted to buy it? No where in the letter does it say it is contingent on buying another car. All they care about is screwing their customers out of money and made a bad situation even worse. Do me a favor and stay away from this dealership. Go buy a car from Honda or Ford down the street instead.

This will be a mixed review. Since 2005 my family has purchased 5 vehicles from Springfield Hyundai, three new and two used. We have been pleased with all of our purchasing experiences with the exception of one. An experienced sales person ( I prefer not to address by name ) helped my daughter and I purchase a car for her back this past September. Her buying experience was mediocre although she is happy with the car. She had not realized how barely adequate her experience was until I raved to her about my purchasing experience a few months ago with both Herb and Tim. Then my daughter became increasingly dissatisfied with her experience. Mostly, she was promised new car mats for 2017 Sonata and she never received them despite repeated communications with her sales person and also she was never told about the free oil change that apparently is customary for used car purchases. Also, I received a second key remote with my used Sonata purchase and my daughter did not receive one. I did not know if that was customary or not with a used car sale but in my repeated emails to management, I did question this. Unfortunately my emails to Hyundai management about my daughter’s experience have been ignored. This disappoints me greatly. Perhaps my complaints seemed inconsequential or small but the fact that my daughter’s buying experience was not positive should have been enough for someone in Hyundai management to take notice. Subsequently, my daughter has paid for four car mats, an oil change and now will have to pay several hundred dollars for a second key remote without knowing if she should have received one. She has stated to me that she will think very seriously before purchasing another car from Springfield Hyundai. Claire Witzel

Stay far far away.

If I could give zero stars, I would. We received a letter from Springfield Hyundai saying they would buy my dads 2015 Hyundai Genesis. This car used to belong to my mother, who recently passed away, so we were planning on taking the $7,000 hit and getting out of it because we do not need it. After thinking about it, we decided to do it and get it over with. When my father went back to Hyundai, they said that they don’t buy cars, they’d only buy it if we bought something else. This is fine, but if we originally told you the entire situation and said i was planning on getting something before the end of the year, Why didn’t you say this before? Why did you send us the letter saying you need a Hyundai Genesis on your lot and wanted to buy it? No where in the letter does it say it is contingent on buying another car. All they care about is screwing their customers out of money and made a bad situation even worse. Do me a favor and stay away from this dealership. Go buy a car from Honda or Ford down the street instead.

Inferior supplies; workmanship, and lack of communication

Took 2014 Sonata there 5/7/18 to replace under shield. This shield had to be reordered two more times because it arrived damaged. (They should have opened it when it arrived and I wouldn't had to make needless trips). 2/6/19 car there for service plus new wiper blades. 9/17/19 AJ told me I needed wiper blades; I reminded him I had them replaced 2/6/19. He told me Hyundais wipers weren't that good and I could get them at Pep boys for around $60.00. He did replace them free. 4/17/2020 Car in for oil change and brake fluid flush. 5/4/2020 took car in thought sun roof was leaking. ( I put sealant around sunroof) Was told by Mike of service manager's office there was $130 diagnostic test, He did not tell me previously when we talked.) $110 to unclog drains. When tech finished my daughter and I checked sunroof there was sealant on car and windows plus a rip on rubber around front of sunroof. Plus inside roof of car around sunroof was dirty. Technican did not say anything about this to us just left the car waiting for us. Asked Stacy and Mike to look at it.Mike stated his tech. wouldn't do a job like that. 5/82020 After general manager Chris Bernicker not returning my calls, we went to the dealership, showed Chris the car and he stated it would be very expensive, to replace the sunroof as you just could not replace the rubber around it. He told us he had a very excellent detail man, Manny and he was working by himself, but he, Chris would call me the following week to bring the car in. Again Chris DID NOT call me. That Thursday 5/16/2020 we went to the dealership again and Chris said again that he was short handed and very busy. I told him he could have had the courtesy to call me. He promised me he would call me that Monday to bring the car in, and he finally did. I told him there was a nail in my tire and if he could have a plug put in it, also that the brakes felt low. Chris said sometimes this occurs when a brake fluid flush is done.. He said he would have the tech check it out. Manny couldn't get to the car until the next day. The detail was good, the glue/sealant was off. Manny said he glued the rip in the sun roof and then put electrical tape around the front of the sunroof. He made it clear that he was a detail man and not a sun roof tech. AJ service manager checked my battery, showed me serpentine belt needed to be replaced and that I needed brakes. What?? I just had a brake fluid flush on 4/17/20. I'm sure they had to pump the brakes or something to test them. Because of their neglect, I could have been in a terrible accident. I don't play with my health and safety. The damaged tire could not be salvaged. I don't know what it is, I began coming to Springfield Hyundai because of a bad experience with technicians in another Hyundai dealership. I'm the type of person that if I've wronged someone I will correct that wrong if possible. Although I won't be taking my car to Springfield Hyundai anymore, I think Mr. Bernicker means well. He is overwhelmed. He's the general manager, the president and CEO. He needs someone whom he trusts to carry some of the load; he can't do it all by himself; that's why he's always in meetings with his staff and neglecting the needs of his customers. I came in Dec 12&13 for a squeaky noise. $1000 later, Mr. Henry apologizes but they fixed something else and the noise is now worse than ever. Mr. Henry want charge me even more to fix the problem I orginally came for. He states the technician missed it. Which is impossible. I called A.J. before getting to the 1st traffic light out of Springfield Hyundai parking lot to let him know the sound was still there he advise everything was fine but would look at it the next day. This was a horrible experience. And my car SILL isn't fixed. I believe I was taken advantage of.

Unprofessional

Called in for a part for a 2014 Hyundai Sonata. Girl who answered the phone was very rude and unprofessional. She told me the part would be ordered and be there the next day. When I arrived too pick the part up, first I was ignored by the girl while she spoke too a male employee. Then she told me that the part was not in and that it wouldn’t be in for a few days. The attitude of this woman was ridiculous. I will not be coming too this location anymore!

Inoperable brakes lights, Hyundai Sonata

On the 29th of November I brought two new brake light harnesses from Hyundai of Springfield Pa, as soon as I installed them I was seeing the same problem, intermitting brakes, Monday the 3rd I took the harnesses back and explained what was happening, The counter man Geary was skeptical of my story so he called mike Davis the service manager, the first thing MrDavis said was what would you like to do because I’m not going to keep replacing harnesses, first, I couldn’t believe that was the first thing Davis said to me, I told MrDavis what I told Geary, the same thing is happening with my brake lights these must be defective, I’m also a state inspection technician and after looking at service bulletins and trouble shooting the brake lights and talking with other technicians, it seems the only course of correction are the harnesses, I told MrDavis I paid for to new brake harnesses, and these don’t work, I also told Davis since my problem accrued I’ve been noticing lots of Hyundai Sonata with the brake lights inoperable, Davis said it’s not true, I told David I’m a customer and there is tons of bulletins and service reports of unhappy customers with brake light issues with Hyundai Sonata he said that wasn’t true either, after going back and forth with MrDavis over my new brake harnesses I brought from Hyundai of Springfield that didn’t work out of the box on my day off, Davis finally told Geary to order them and then looked at me and said , “that’s it”, as if I wasn’t going to receive any more help and walked away, MrDavis was very unprofessional, rude, and impatient with me, I feel that Mike Davis was very disrespectful for this issue to be on going for Hyundai customers, I do not wish to do business with this company anymore

They are more concerned about what WE want and it makes our buying experience some much more pleasant. This is the fourth vehicle that my family has purchased from John. Staff was helpful and efficient! Tried to get same work done at a Hyundai service department closer to my home and they told me it would take at least a week because they didn’t have the right equipment in their store. Springfield Hyundai completed the work for me in less than an hour! So worth the trip!!

Excellent customer service from Myron, Dave Morrison, and Gary! Myron and Dave was upfront from the beginning and took their time to make sure my husband and I received an amazing deal on our new Sonata! Car buying can be such a hassle but there aren’t enough amazing things that I can say about Myron and Dave. They should definitely be viewed as valuable members of your team! Painless leasing

I had an excellent experience with my sale person, Myron Taylor. He followed up as we proceeded through the sale experience as I had been to the dealership earlier, hesitated, and then came back. He persisted without nagging, which I appreciate. My only disappointment was with a corporate (not dealership) policy of an additional fee at lease end if I decide not to lease again.

Great Place To Buy A Hyundai

The overall buying experience at Springfield Hyundai very pleasurable. Salesperson Dan Sloss was very friendly and had extensive knowledge about all the features of the 2020 Palisade. Dan did not pressure me to buy the Palisade, but made the deal so attractive I had to make a purchase/lease. All of the employees from the sales manager, finance manager, service manager and cashier are some of the most pleasant and friendly people I have ever experienced in purchasing a vehicle. These employees are an asset to Springfield Hyundai.

I had the most amazing car buying experience at Springfield Hyundai. The customer service was on point from start to finish, they went above and beyond to keep you satisfied, they understand all types of financial circumstances, and are really attentive to make sure we comfortable, understood what we were getting into, and very clear and concise when walking you through the entire process. The whole staff was friendly and family oriented, and cars were clean and in tip top shape. I am excited about my new vehicle. I came with nothing and most certainly DID NOT leave empty handed. I have contacted the Better Business Bureau regarding this matter as I would like the sunroof replaced or a metal shield welded over it so water can't get in.

Service department offers little actual service

From the time I brought my car in for service until I picked it up 23 days later, I was treated as if no one cared about, or addressed my questions and issues. Here are the highlights: Being told that I would need to rent a car from somewhere else at my own expense for this warranty issue on my one year old car. After a long debate, it was agreed that they would provide a loaner car that they previously told me they did not have available for me. I was told I had to pay $400. For the car rental. Then I was told that it could be months before my car was repaired and there were 15 people ahead of me. When I called service to check in after a week, I was greeted with an attitude and told that I don’t need to call them. That THEY would call me when the car was finished. At day 23 I called again and was told the same thing. At that point I called Corporate Hyundai to see if I could get some answers as I was loosing confidence that my car would ever be fixed. I filed a complaint, and only after filing the complaint, I was called by service to come pick up my vehicle that day, or I would be charged further on the rental car. When I inquired as to why the car was fixed over night when yesterday they said they had no idea when it would be fixed due to parts not coming in, I was simply told the part came in. The attitude lacked respect or consideration. I repeatedly tried to get in touch with the manager Stacey, but never was able to speak w her and was told she does not take customer calls. 1 month later, I was called and told I owed a balance on the rental car I was told would be no charge to me. I did receive a refund of $400. That is paid, but now they were charging me do the 2 days before they could diagnose my undrivable car. One call from Stacey after corporate was called a second time about charging me for the rental. Her message on my voicemail was simply that the charges had been credited. When I tried to call her back I was told she was not available. No apologies No accountability No compassion for what the car owner might be dealing with This was a warranty issue that made the car undrivable. There is no customer service at this location I won’t be back.

Ripoff!

Ripoff! Brought my Azera in for a recall repair. Was told that I also needed wheel alignment, coolant system flush, fuel injector clean, and power steering flush. Trusted their assessment and performed all the services recommended. However, when I returned home and checked my service record, I found that I already had the coolant and fuel injection services performed less than a year ago at a different Hyundai dealership. Unlikely they are bad after ~6000 miles. What a rip-off! Never going back there again!

Excellent service department

Staff was helpful and efficient! Tried to get same work done at a Hyundai service department closer to my home and they told me it would take at least a week because they didn’t have the right equipment in their store. Springfield Hyundai completed the work for me in less than an hour! So worth the trip!!

Great Place To Buy A Hyundai

The overall buying experience at Springfield Hyundai very pleasurable. Salesperson Dan Sloss was very friendly and had extensive knowledge about all the features of the 2020 Palisade. Dan did not pressure me to buy the Palisade, but made the deal so attractive I had to make a purchase/lease. All of the employees from the sales manager, finance manager, service manager and cashier are some of the most pleasant and friendly people I have ever experienced in purchasing a vehicle. These employees are an asset to Springfield Hyundai.

We were out to look at new model cars because our lease was up in one month. We saw the new Kona and really liked it. We drove off in our new car the same day. Our salesman, Mike Hodgson, made the experience easy to get through. We were happy with the total experience.

Stay far far away.

If I could give zero stars, I would. We received a letter from Springfield Hyundai saying they would buy my dads 2015 Hyundai Genesis. This car used to belong to my mother, who recently passed away, so we were planning on taking the $7,000 hit and getting out of it because we do not need it. After thinking about it, we decided to do it and get it over with. When my father went back to Hyundai, they said that they don’t buy cars, they’d only buy it if we bought something else. This is fine, but if we originally told you the entire situation and said i was planning on getting something before the end of the year, Why didn’t you say this before? Why did you send us the letter saying you need a Hyundai Genesis on your lot and wanted to buy it? No where in the letter does it say it is contingent on buying another car. All they care about is screwing their customers out of money and made a bad situation even worse. Do me a favor and stay away from this dealership. Go buy a car from Honda or Ford down the street instead.

Unexpectedly good

It is unfortunate as a young woman that I sometimes am not taken seriously as a buyer. I had been to a ton of dealerships where I had been disregarded, overlooked and talked down to. Excellent/Promise Keeper

I called Springfield Hyundai on Friday to submit a credit application for approval to purchase a used Hyundai. I spoke with Valerie and Cheryl. I told them I did not want to spend an entire day or even 4 hours at the showroom to purchase a used car. They promised to have me in and out which they did. The experience was awesome. They were true to their words. I arrived at 10AM on Saturday, 10/28. I was meet with Cheryl who in turn, went to get Valerie. This is our fourth car we purchased from Springfield Hyundai. Our last purchase was a lease Hyundai SanteFe. The service each and every time and especially today, was beyond expectation. I will not go anywhere else to purchase either a new or used car. POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE- MEDIOCRE COMUNICATION SKILLS -

I had an issue with a defect on the vehicle a week after purchase. The communication with Joe was very poor. He doesn't reply to any email. Finally after calling him he mentioned on the phone that he's going to take care of fixing the issue on the car but when dropped off the car the Manager Bob said that there is no issue on the car while there is and told me that he 's not going to do anything. He simply told us that at his level ( sales manager )he can't do anything but if not happy I have to contact the Brand. I would have thought he should have take care of it. So far very disappointed buying a Hyundai..

When in to buy my first car and Tim was amazing. Everybody was very friendly opening and outgoing I had a great time they made the process easy and stress- free so if you want to stress free worry-free and easy buying experience, I would recommend this dealership and Tim he gave me the best test drive ever.
